Michael's Favourite Game

 My Favourite Video Game.

When I was trying to decide which game would be my favourite game it was such a brain shamble to think about. All the games from my childhood were just going through my head but every time I thought about a game I would start by thinking what the aim of the game is, the characters, the levels and all of a sudden Super Mario World would enter my head again and again it was clear my mind was made up for me.

Super Mario World (1990) was I'm pretty sure the first game we owned or was at least one of the first. We would stay up all hours of the night throughout primary school playing and get up super early to play. Friends would come over and we would play for hours on end and mum would get annoyed because we'd eat all the food.

Super Mario World itself as a game was just so fun and a way to enter this whole new world that would take away your sense of time and have you telling yourself "just one more level, just one more".

The first Mario Bros. game was released in 1983 being introduced as "Mario Bros." and was released across multiple platforms from the Arcade game, Game and Watch, Atari 2600, NES. The same year Mario's cement factory and Mario's Bomb's Away was released on the Game and Watch.
More Games were released each year up until the release of Super Mario World (1990) which was the debut appearance of Yoshi who was Mario's little dinosaur sidekick.

Super Mario World Follows on from the "Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario Bros. 3, where Mario and Luigi decide to take a holiday to Dinosaur Land. While at the beach Princess Toadstool disappears and while searching for Princess Toadstool Mario and Luigi find an egg in the forest, this egg hatches and turn out to be Yoshi who informs them that all his dinosaur friends have been taken captive by the evil Koopas.

The aim of the game is to fight off the evil Bowser as it is with pretty much all the Mario Bros. games. You have to travel through the different worlds defeating enemies and looking for hidden bonuses like the Frog suit and the Cape feather that will give you an upper advantage of passing Bowser's Koopalings. King Bowser's castle is where the game comes to an end where you must defeat King Bowser to save the Dinosaurs and Princess Toadstool.

The game has been re-released several times making an upgrade from its original 2D graphics Super Mario World was released in 1994 combined with Super Mario Allstars. It was one on the first games announced to be released for the Wii's Virtual Console in 2006 and was released on the Wii U in 2013.

I would have to say the reasons I love this game are more sentimental more than anything. The memories that come flashing back and so many of them for how often we would play the game but as all Mario Bros. games, they have the ability to pull you in and just bring a sense of joy to the player or sometimes anger.  Mario Bros. has come a long way since Super Mario World (1990) but it would still have to be my favourite game of all time.
